FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Good luck charms? That girl over there with the mask said that that thing is her good luck charm or whatever, these could be that? Dunno if they'll give us any 'stats' though!

Yeah! She said her mask adds stuff to her DEX and... uh, DEF! Says it gives her self-confidence and protects her identity.

[ okay she still has no idea what those mean but she's pretty sure the mask is just a comfort thing? ... so maybe the ribbons are, too? ]

Maybe they're for us to wear, together. To keep us feeling like a team.

Oh! Like baseball uniforms?

[ A wild leap in comparison has been made. ]

Like a uniform, yes.

[ A wonderful and very funny sport that they should play on this campus. ]

Neat. Where would it go? [ He looks down at himself. It's... got a lot of straps on and stuff. It can go anywhere. And then he looks at Lux and all her armour... ]

It's not that big, though! Maybe would go around my finger but wouldn't go around my wrist or something.

[ and she picks a ribbon up, holding it out as a tentative offer to tie it on him, if he would like? ]

[ If he didn't have his mask on, he'd have a stupid ass :) look on his face. Look at him, he hasn't got a clue.

Pinky out! Thinnest finger, best chances. ]

lux ties the ribbon around his pinky! ]

Hehe. Very charming.

[ Hmhm. He bends his pinky. Snug but surprisingly ok! ]

You think so? Heh heh. [ With the mask, it's hard to tell, but he might be grinning. ]

Kinda like a pinky promise.

Then let's think of it as such. It's a promise to look out for one another, since we're all in this together.

[ she looks at him with interest, since it sounds like he might want to talk about it? ]

[ WEIRDLY ENOUGH HE DOES, thank you for perceiving him Lux. ]

It's a long story! [ Seriously it is. ] But I got separated from my friend Nikaido for a while, and we both learned a lot of things. But we promised to be friends anyway and pinky swore on it.

So we started travelling together again... 'til I woke up here, anyway! [ And he is clearly annoyed by that! ]

Sometimes it can be hard to reconnect with people you haven't seen in some time, especially if you've learned enough to have changes of heart or opinion. I'm glad to hear it worked out for you, until the - interruption.

[ Huuuuh. Hrmmmm. ]

Changes of heart or opinion? [ He echoes that, seeming nonplussed by it. ]

Well, my buddy got brainwashed into partnering up with a big shot Magic User... though I punched the sense back in her.

Sometimes when people see more of the world, they may come to realize they were wrong about things they'd taken for granted. When apart from their friends, those friends may not always have learned the same lesson. It's a situation that can cause conflict is all that I mean, but I'm glad that...

Well, it was resolved for you one way or another.

Not as such. It's just a situation I've seen play out before.

Her name's Nikaido, she makes really awesome ohba gyoza, she's the one that found me and took me to the hospital when I first woke up, and she kicks mean ass!
