SUMMER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room is as bright and open as the rest of the dorm. Beanbag chairs and even more hammocks are situated around for any of your resting needs, because who needs couches? There are a few blankets on the couch just for comfort, but the temperature is never cold enough to need them because of chill. There's also an absurd amount of pillows.

The walls are decorated with paintings that are either modern art pieces or done by kindergarteners. There are also photographs tacked onto the walls as well, of seemingly random things like a vase of flowers, a mailbox, a bird on a tree branch. The photos are less about grand views and feels more like someone testing out a camera.

On a table is a welcome basket.

In the common room, there's a door that leads to what can only be described as an Occult Room for some strange reason. Unlike the rest of the dorm, this room is dimly lit and is crowded with items—a skeleton that may or may not be real, taxidermy animals, really creepy looking dolls, an actual coffin, etc. On a table to the side is a Ouija board, a few tarot decks, and crystal ball.

That's what I am, though?

I-I'm not like a butler or a maid or anything. It's literally what I am. Like. Not human.

[momming]

Not human.

[ She echoes, a little thoughtfully. ]

So a Servant is more of a supernatural being of sorts?

[ Please don't say it's an Administrator. ]

[duranduel]

Yeah! Yeah, that's it. I guess in the end, I'm just a figure that represents someone from legend, after all...

[momming]

... Oh! [ She brightens. ]

I see, like a demon!

[ OTOME. ]

[duranduel]

[ONE HIT KO]

EeeehhHHHHHH?!

[momming]

[ First official murder week 0-- ]

Oh-- [ Less enthusiastically this time, as she catches herself. ] I'm sorry, I'm not calling you a demon... that's just what they were back home. Shiva, Kama, Hariti, Ishtar... so on. They tend to hail from legends and mythology.

[duranduel]

O-oh.

[That's better.]

Well, uh...that's a weird name to call figures from legend...I wouldn't recover if like, Hector was called a demon...

[momming]

I think it usually applies to gods more than anything. It's a little complicated, but...

I promise not to call Hector a demon.

[ Who is Hector ]

[duranduel]

Oh, I'm just saying in general. But calling great heroes like Achilles, Hector, Caesar, that sort of thing...kinda feels wrong.

[And a shrug.]

So you've...met gods and stuff?

[momming]

I have! We've had to rely on their help quite a bit these days with the situation...

[ Sadly. ]

[duranduel]

The...situation?

[???]

[momming]

Higher figures are trying to wipe my world from existence, more or less.

[duranduel]

....W-what? What do you mean, "higher figures"! Go back! Rewind! Like, "destroying the world"?

[momming]

...

[ And wryly-- ]

You know, you were worried about keeping me for hours with what's troubling you, but I'm afraid explaining all of that would take just as long. But to sum it up, yes, "destroying the world".

[duranduel]

Oh, geez...

[That sucks? Wow?]

So these demons were helping you all out...sounds like the Counter Force, actually. Y'know, the world stepping up to protect itself.

[momming]

A Counter Force... I do like the sound of that. It's true that we did get a hand from someone who wanted to give us a fighting chance, even if it was then largely left to us as to how we wanted to use the power given to us.

It didn't go all that smoothly, to be honest.

[duranduel]

That sounds like a big deal. Its kinda being like...being given a powerful object and then they just let you use it how you wish.

...What do you mean, though? Why wasn't it smooth?

[momming]

Well... [ Her shoulders slump, a little. ]

It's exactly as you said. People were given a powerful object and if they passed the initial test, they could do with it as they wished.

And to people who already wanted power or had no qualms hurting others, do you think they used that power responsibly?

[duranduel]

[He looks away.]

No. Not at all.

[momming]

[ She nods, even though he's not looking. ]

Demons will run rampant when given the chance, if they're not working with a proper Tamer. To add to that other forces actively trying to kill humans and it's... certainly a lively time.

[duranduel]

[He glances back at her...Tamers, huh...sounds like Masters...]

So you had gods and stuff runnin' around? Geez. That sounds like a headache and a half...but did you guys, uh, succeed in the end?

[momming]

... I don't know. [ Her smile is a little tired. ]

I was brought here right before we could settle things.

[duranduel]

[..........]

I'm real sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how upset you must be.

[momming]

[ There's a short pause. ]

I can't deny that I am very worried.

... But everyone is strong. Even without me being there... I'm sure they'll be fine. If I spend the whole time worrying, I won't be able to do a thing for the people here.
