It's missing because the principal wanted an even playing field for the Dorm Wars and graduation.

I wanted to be a Dorm Head to make up for last year's mistake. Winning is just extra. I wouldn't mind making a place for everyone.

if dorm wars are actually what's been described to us so far, I don't see how any personal items would've helped with that.

what happened last year?

I failed a class and ruined my GPA.

does being dorm head help raise it back?

I don't really want to talk about it.

Being Dorm Head doesn't help fix my grade. It was a personal goal. A second chance to prove I'm not giving into failure.

[ghoststrums]

you brought it up. but alright.

who are you trying to prove it to? yourself? failing one class doesn't make you a failure.

[dormheads]

Myself, I guess. Failing puts me that much farther back from graduating. I won't be able to take the college entrance exam if I don't graduate.

you sound a little like a friend of mine.
he wants to be a doctor, so he's always working and studying hard.

what do you want to do in the future? or is it just that you want to graduate that badly?

I don't like to think quite that far ahead yet. I'll lose focus on trying for the exam. Right now, I just want to pass the entrance exam into college.

To say I was able to do it on my own.

there's nothing wrong with needing help from time to time.
or is that about proving that you could to yourself?

[dormheads]

No, you're right. You shouldn't give in to taking the easy way out, like cheating. And it's okay to get help sometimes, like studying with someone else.

[ghoststrums]

but I understand if graduating under your own power is important to you.

[dormheads]

I don't mind getting there with help anymore, but I do want to be the one to cross the finish line on my own.

there's certain things people have to do for themselves sometimes. that's normal.

I'm not sure how grades work here. it's more american, right? how many years do you have left before your entrance exam?

American?

I'm a sophomore. I have two more years after this one.

I see. so that's about the same as how it works back home. I'll be taking entrance exams next year.

about entrance exams? not really. I don't really know where I'll go or what I'll do yet, so it's hard to be nervous about taking an exam. and there's been bigger things on my mind lately.

I don't have anything planned yet either. But I'm worried I won't pass. What's on your mind if it isn't the exams?

a lot of things were at stake.
it's over now, so it's fine.
but for a while it was just one thing after another. it's hard to explain.

I've never really been worried about passing classes anyway.
as long as I do the work, usually it's enough.

I get it.

I've never worried about passing them before. The class I failed was tougher than I thought. I felt pathetic because I was struggling while everyone else seemed to do fine.

Then I started thinking maybe I was just stupid. What happens if I couldn't do it?
