FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 1

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

My dumbest fear?

I used to be afraid that I would change Frumpkin into one of his other forms - an octopus or a sparrow, maybe - and I would not be able to afford the components to change him back for long enough that he'd want to stay an octopus.

They'll always be there... but, for right now, I can ignore them while I'm with all of you.

Not even for a minute. What if we got disqualified because I did? I can't risk that.

I'll carry the burden if it means we're still a playing dorm.

I get how the sparrow would be useful but.......an octopus?

Yep. I'm here so we can get through it with each other. Me included.

When we were living on a ship exploring underwater ruins, he was the MVP of the team!

There was also a time a friend of mine was in a burning building and needed to escape out the window. Octopus is a pretty good landing pad for someone as small as she is.

[I'm sorry Yamato, he assumes everyone knows about the three souls. You'll have to ask more clearly.

It's also definitely translation fun, because the three different souls have actual names in Finnish.]

I can't take it off in public. The Dorm Head rules of Spirit Week. I don't know what will happen if I do, but I don't want us to be disqualified because I made a stupid decision.

[Well, he didn't ask if he was seeing anyone, just if he had a partner 👀 ]

. . . Do you? Have, uhm, someone you are seeing, or interested in? [He actually looks like he panic picked this question and immediately regretted it.]

I don't know about anyone else, but I only have the one.

[ and a half gabumon is a whole thing ]

Not at all. He can be just about any small creature, if I make him that way. He has been, uhm, a capuchin monkey before, a vulture, a falcon and an owl, a raven, a sea bird, even a spider.
