FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 1
common room.
The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.
A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.
Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.
This week, there's something else.
specialty room.
Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

There's a small chest beside the table on the floor. When each student opens it, inside will be a single Halloween costume of choice made to fit them perfectly. (This can be an OOC or IC choice.) Unfortunately, the costume won't come with any props. It's just the costume. When and if they put the Halloween costume on, they'll feel an extreme urge to go trick-or-treating around campus. Time to demand candy from others, and then trick them if they don't hand any over!

Out on the dorm porch is a row of large pumpkins, one for each Fall Dorm student. Nearby is a collection of pumpkin carving kits and flameless tea candles. The carving kits won't leave the Fall Dorm, and once a jack-o-lantern has been finished, the kit used will disappear. An example pumpkin is already there! It looks like this.]

lux and lalli, sitting on the floor in the middle of the room. they have some board games next to them, though they aren't open. lux is holding up one very tiny sock, while lalli has the other. they both look vaguely confused? also lux is wearing this.
there are several running washing machines, but laundry is only in one of them. one of the machines towards the back of the room is slowly overflowing with bubbles. they are both ignoring it. ]
Well, it was a lesson learned, I suppose?

About the extra credit assignments, I've learned a few things I think you should all know. First, doing them might help all of us out in the long run. The better a dorm "does" in this school, which includes things like extra credit, the more the dorm heads can have access to things like information for us, and other stuff. That's why, if you need assistance doing any of them, I'm willing to help.
Also-- you can share what your extra credit task is with one or two other people maximum privately, but depending on the task it might not count if they learn about it beforehand. Like... having to lie to someone wouldn't work if you warn them, but something that would be impossible without working with someone else is fine. It's a case by case basis, so be careful of the wording.

Ah. And - as long as we're sharing information... This is somewhat off-topic, but I believe that accurate 'votes' in the trial will earn us more vouchers. So that is something to keep in mind.
