FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 1

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[He looks at the machine flowing over with bubbles.

...he does not answer but he looks Concerned.]

What, didn't you do that?! [ LALLIIII SAY SOMETHINGNGGGG ]

It's gonna 'cause damage if it's left like that! [ HUFF PUFF. ] Where's a mop?!

[silentscout]

In the mop closet?

[He makes no move to go get it.]

Shouldn't we wait for it to turn off before cleaning it up?

[headsplitter]

Just press the off button! Or unplug it!

[ C'MON LALLI IT'S CLEAN-UP TIME? He's off to get the mop! And a bucket! And some rags!!! Wow look at him, looks like he's done clean-up duty before. ]

[silentscout]

[Go go Caiman!

By the time he comes back Lalli has managed to shut off the washer. Someone showed him where the 'off' button is.]

It's off.

[The mess is still all over the floor.]

[headsplitter]

Good job!

[ AND IMMEDIATELY STICKING THE MOP INTO THE WATERY MESS. ]

Scrub scrub! A clean place is a happy place!

[silentscout]

[Lalli makes no effort to help. He just stands there and watches until he's told to do something.]

This place isn't alive, it doesn't have feelings.

[headsplitter]

[ It's fine. Look at Caiman go on his own! Draining out some mop water into the bucket before wiggling the end of the thing at Lalli. ]

But we are and we do!

[silentscout]

[He takes a step back from the wiggling mop.]

I am not a happy place.

[headsplitter]

You could be! Eat good food and make good friends!

[silentscout]

I don't want to.

[headsplitter]

Why not?

[ Back to mopping.

LALLIIIIIIIIIII ]

[silentscout]

Because I don't.

[He's itching at his arm now. The tiniest bit of a glow can be seen at the edge of his sleeve, since he's not wearing gloves currently.]

It's pointless to try. We're all either going to die or leave this place soon enough.

[headsplitter]

[ I hope Lalli's greatest fear is either zombies or dogs. ]

Jeez, what an uplifting fellow you are! [ He is totally unfazed. Maybe? But look at that, he's cleaned up what is maybe your mess who the hell knows in this dorm. The inside of the washing machine is still all soapy and sudsy but it's fine? ] I mean be happy in general, not just while you're here! You always this gloomy?

[silentscout]

[It is neither of those.]

No. Why do I need to be happy? Isn't just 'normal' enough? Just because I'm not smiling doesn't mean I'm gloomy.

[He's actually being gloomy though, even if he doesn't quite realize it. But thank you, Caiman, for cleaning up his mess.]

[headsplitter]

[ Damn it Lalli!! ]

I mean, if you wanna be like that, then sure. Don't see why you shouldn't be happy if you can though.

[ Simple as that! He doesn't care to push ideations of happiness on Lalli (some people just be like that, Lalli's outlook reminds him of his boss a lil bit) but that's what he thinks. But there we go, proud of his work. ]

All clean. [ Except the inside of the machine but don't perceive. ]

[silentscout]

I never asked you to understand it.

['They're all different. They won't understand.' He can just keep thinking that.

But hey, the mess is mostly clean! Lalli is just peeking into the half-full washing machine now.]

...what about this stuff?

[headsplitter]

Okay! [ If that's what you're for Lalli!! Though oocly Lalli I am begging u to make some friends.

Caiman, on the other hand, also peers into the washing machine. ]

Oh.

[ Hmm. ]

I'm gonna need to get really geared up for this!

[silentscout]

Is there a button to just drain the water out?

[headsplitter]

Good question! I dunno!

Maybe if we just spin it without adding anything this time?

[silentscout]

Maybe. I didn't think we put THAT much soap in.

[headsplitter]

Seems like a lot to me. [ Yeesh guys, surprisingly or not Caiman DOES understand wanting to keep clean but come on! ]

No point in wasting soap and water!

[ So just like that, he's going to peel off his outer jacket and toss that in there. Square lizard in an undershirt it's fine. And just presses the button to let it spin, hopefully it doesn't explode or something?

Caiman looks accomplished. Look at that, he used a brain? ]

[silentscout]

[He used a single brain cell.

Lalli stares at the washing machine as Caiman turns it back on.]

Will it work if your clothes were only in there part of the time?

[He then looks back to Caiman, because he's trying to see if Caiman is all lizard or if he has human arms or something.]

[headsplitter]

It's a fresh cycle! I'm just using the soap and water since there wasn't anything in there to start with anyway!

[ Yeah Lalli his square body below the neck is just. All human as far as you can see... ]

[What a mysterious body.]
