WEEK 1 CYOA: Alphinaud, Kon, Manwol, Bradley

[ Oh, that certainly is a crashing sound.

Alphinaud looks between the others who have followed him in. ]

Allow me to look.

[ Whether they let him go or just follow him anyway is up to them, but he's going to head in the direction of the crash. ]

[the crashing noise is kind of Mysterious, but Manwol figures that the two or three of them will have that covered. Please don't get murdered at the neighbors house that would be EMBARRASSING.

She'll see if the hostess needs help. Just gonna casually open kitchen drawers and compliment the cutlery while she's at it? Wonder where they keep their knives....]

[ watching alphi and bradley leave, kon raises his hand in a you've got it covered that also doubles a little as call if you need help.

he'll stay with manwol to snoop around, under the guise of looking for something to clean up the little oopsie that he made. he's also checking to see if the stove/oven setup are gas or not. ]

[ This house seems to follow a similar layout of their own. That's convenient! Well, the decorations are different-- this house is much more bare, with only the most basic of furniture with not much for personalization. It sounded like the noise came from upstairs.

Kon will see that the oven is gas and it would be very easy to set a fire, if that was ever something he wanted to do. Manwol will also see plenty of knives. They're very sharp? And they're just there, if she wants to borrow one just in case. ]

[ Time to head upstairs. Alphinaud will start by peeking into the smallest bedroom. ]

[ The smallest bedroom will be completely empty except for a hole in the middle of the ground. Weird, because you couldn't see the hole from the ground floor?

Bradley's room, meanwhile, will be completely full. So full, that it's hard to even step into it. It's just rows and rows of shelves full of books, all of varying ages.

The stove turns on nicely! Wow. :) Could be useful later. ]

Alphinaud goes further in; time to investigate hole. ]

[Full of books huh? He'll find a way in and start looking these books over. Do they look like they have any kind of common theme?]

[Manwol starts grumbling because he's right and looks for a dish towel she can wrap her knife in. She still doesn't have pockets so she'll make one of the boys carry it later.]

You always look cute but you would be insufferable in your misery over how it didn't turn out perfect.

[ he's going to look around for a junk drawer or something, see if he can find some matches or a lighter. ]

[ If he looks into the hole, Alphi will find that it's pretty familiar to him? He remembers how long it took to make it, and how much of a hassle it was. If he squints, he can see the remains of Tsuyukusa and the rest of Lila's body. Nothing surprising here!

Bradley will see that the books are all recipe books about meat recipes. There is so much meat recipes. Best way to catch something, best way to skin it, best way to separate the flesh from the bone. How to stew, grill, steam... it's so useful!

Manwol can find a dish towel. It's hard, since a lot of them are dirty with some mysterious substance, but she manages to find a clean one.

Kon will get his lighter! It works perfectly. ]

[ Naturally, he looks down.

There's a second where he wants to be horrified, yet after pinching his eyes shut and clutching his head, any distraught seems to vanish in a moment.

Why would he be? They did this; they wanted this. Alphinaud looks over the bodies—or what's left of them—before turning away. He still needs to find where that sound came from, after all.

He'll check in the closet. ]

[Every single one of these, huh? Homeowner has good taste in food and meat, even if there's not much around the neighborhood. Oh well.

He'll take a second to read one before heading out and over to the master bedroom.]

[damn their neighbors live like this? Maybe everyone in the culdesac has a problem with roaches. Manwol will gently remove the knife with the utmost of care, because now Kon has her thinking about uneven cuts, and stick it in the towel.]

I'm going to get the others, wherever they are.

[he can come too if he wants. she'll make her way upstairs to the room Alphinaud is in.]

[ he pockets the lighter, before pulling out his phone from the pocket when he realizes it's there, too, flipping it open to check for anything. ]

Yeah, they've been taking a little bit. [ he'll follow! so that we're all in one place. ]

[ In the closet, Alphinaud will find... Nier? More precisely, an alive Nier, and his eyes widen in surprise and something else-- fear?-- when he sees who opened the door.

When Bradley walks into the master bedroom, he'll find it completely covered in bugs. From the floor to the ceiling, the bodies of different insects slither over each other. If he's not careful, they'll try to climb onto him. Maybe try to dodge a roach as it falls from the ceiling?

Kon will notice that he has four missed calls, despite the fact that the phone never rang. It's from the same number as before. ]

[ Alphinaud likewise freezes, surprised. ]

[ Meanwhile Bradley's high dex means he gets to move immediately out of the way of the roach and close the door on the big bug infestation.

[ kon shifts to let bradley rejoin the family proper, staying just outside the room - better to have someone to keep an eye out for anyone coming and going, after all! ]

[ Nier just looks between them all, and says as calmly as he can. ]

[ When Kon calls the number, there's a click as it gets answered. The voice is the same, but slightly warbled. ]
