It's a little hard to wake up when the melody that drifts into your ears is so comforting that it'd be so much simpler to stay asleep. Maybe everything that you remember last - the cold seeping into your fingertips, the pain of injury, or the darkness creeping into your vision - will just be parts of a bad dream.

But it's not.

When you wake up, it's probably a little disorienting - you have to push off a blanket and rise from this nice comfortable mat on the floor. Seems like you were all curled up for nap time. Literally. The room that you're in has furniture meant for small humans, children as some might call them, and everything is soft and plush to the touch with rounded corners. Blocks with the alphabet etched onto them, coloring books and crayons, and even a rocking horse dot the room to really give it that childish charm. If you can think of a child-safe toy, it's probably in one of the baskets that line the shelves of the room!

Around the room they'll find baby monitors that broadcast the antics of the living. Hopefully that doesn't feel creepy.

There is a yard outside through the glass doors, but it currently seems to be locked - and the glass won't break no matter how hard you try. There's a large pink door that feels enormous, ten times as tall as you, on one side of the room, but there's no way through that either. At the very top, you might see a directory sign that says: TO ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.

Huh.

Well... for now, get comfortable. It looks like you might be here a while.

Bradley has the same posture as he always does. Confident and tall, even if his expression says "I have no idea what is going on anymore".]

[ There's a short silence there while this guy just stares at Bradley. Given the mask on him, the expression is, well, unreadable. But after a moment he just laughs, a lower key of boisterous. ]

Caiman? Ain't that a lizard name?

[ But he holds out a hand anyway. ]

[According to Ichinose, and that's what he'll go with for now.

Alright, why not? He takes the hand and shakes it.]

What's the mask for?

Really? I don't know jack shit about either of those things anyway, never even seen one.

[ Jazz hands! ]

It's not that weird for me to be wearing a mask, is it?

[Shakes his head.]

No, it's fuckin' weird. You're the only guy around here wearin' one.

Ha-ha, well, maybe it's not normal for you weirdos but it is for me and where I come from.

South Zagan. Least, I go to the school there. Went, I guess.

Did ya... graduate?

[He's pretty sure this is what people do at schools.]

Term got cut short.

[battling]

That happens?

[Look when the only school you've ever been to is murder school you have a lot of questions.]

Yeah. Uh...

Someone died.

Though, maybe it's 'cause of the staff corruption, why it shut down. Really.

[battling]

[Hey! What!

Why are they still going to school if people are dying!!]

's that how all schools are supposed t' work?

Probably not, but people die all the time to things where I come from. A bunch of students were disappearing, actually. Turns out, a teacher was making 'em: [ And he makes a 'poof' motion with his hands.

And because I'm going to capitalize on the goddamn memshare for our poor graveyard, Bradley suddenly gets a memory.

Watching from a platform above, he sees a guy be accosted by someone much larger. He seems to be offering the first guy some kind of deal -- wristbands that will amplify his smoke production, make his magic stronger, but for a ridiculous price. Threatening him in turn when he refuses to pay that price. A fight breaks out, the first guy immediately retaliating with a stake in that teacher's wrist.

'You bastard...! I won't forgive you. I'll erase you with my magic...!'

Then he -- Aikawa, the man before Bradley -- makes his move, kicking open the vent and grasping the wires there as a hold as he Spidermans into the room.

'I heard aaaaall of that. All of it!' he says, lazily as he hangs down. 'So it's you, who's been hurting people then making students disappear, huh? It's time to stop the dirty business, teacher!'

The 'teacher' snarls, and threatens to erase them both -- because Aikawa has been a thorn in his side for too long, anyway. But he takes out a knife from his jacket, and before the teacher can shoot his magic at them -- in the blink of an eye, his arms are sliced up and in pieces. He falls to the ground, passing out from the shock. Aikawa squats down beside him, sighing.

'Aw shit. What do we do? When he wakes up, we're totally gonna get expelled...'

And just like that, they're back. Aikawa sticks his hands into his pockets and slouches, shrugging while at it. ]

...Or that could happen, sure. Saves me the words.

[battling]

[He blinks rapidly for a moment, because he's still not used to sudden memshares even after a week of them.]

Damn, are all the wizards where you're from like that?

[headsplitter]

Not all of them. A bunch of them, mostly my classmates, are pretty cool guys and gals.

But yeah, there's some pretty big assholes out there.

[battling]

Huh. Didn't know that.

[Internally holding his head in his hands like then why did you want to murder all wizards!

Externally though he's totally chill.]

And ya... usually wear masks like that?

[headsplitter]

[ WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO KNOW, WIZARD BOY? ]

Yep! It's pretty commonplace. [ Fingerflicks the side of his own mask. ] Masks increases our strength, so it's normal to just keep them on.

[HE SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!]

[headsplitter]

Yep. Masks increase the strength of magic.

[battling]

[WHAT IS HAPPENING]

You're a mage?

[headsplitter]

Sure, yeah. I'm a Sorcerer.
