FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 2

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Today sure happened.

Ichinose sits on their stolen couch, looking at her phone with a rare frown, but not really saying anything. She offers whoever approaches her a sad slice of pizza in these trying times? That is the fall dorm tradition now. We drown our sorrows in pineapple pizza.]

[ lux is also just sitting here looking moody. ]

I suppose it was bound to be one of us, eventually.

[Just putting a hand on her shoulder.]

[ she tenses for a second, then relaxes again. ]

On top of the state you returned to us in...

[He is not eating.

he's sitting in a chair with his knees drawn up to his chest and he's hiding his face against his knees.

But he's there?]

[ squeezing lalli's shoulder briefly ]

... We'll figure it out this time.

[ they know when to pay money for things now! maybe they won't just get goose. ]

[He flinches at the touch and tightens his grip on his knees.

But he nods. They'll get it, maybe.]

[Ah. He's coming back from investigating, cold, but wrapped in the scarf Bradley gave him last night. Taking a look around at the gloomy mood and just shoving his hands in his pockets, frowning.]

Ah. . . this is difficult. I'm sorry, everyone.

Ichinose just gives him a look.]

More focused on this now.

[ Caiman won't be in the dorm, but he'll be outside... and on the roof, actually, but it's fine. ]

[Manwol sticks her head out the window to yell up at him. she does this because she cannot physically CLIMB to the roof]

We're going to finish all the pizza if you don't come down and have a slice.

...that's one from every dorm now, officially.

It was bound to happen.

[ he will accept a slice of pizza this time! i typed gladly at first but there is nothing glad about this situation, and even if there was, glad would probably not be a word that would apply to hope because of who he is as a person anyway.

in any case, he just holds the slice in one of his hands while he looks down at his phone clutched in the other, frown etched strongly into his features. ]

...Have you guys heard about the theory that the people who have been killing others may not be in control of their actions? Kind of like how expulsions happen on Sunday– it's like some sort of outside force is compelling them to act.

[Manwol glances up from her pizza, frown settling into place.]

...I have. [that's a theory she doesn't like!! haha!!] If it's anything like the compulsion I experienced, then it's definitely possible for someone to kill -- regardless of who they are, or how they feel about it.

I think there may be something to this.

In the place we were taken, we encountered people from here. Uhm. . . for me, Beauregard. She would act normally, and then something would come over her, her eyes would go black, and she would start acting angry and violent. [. . .] More than usual.

Maybe just to mess with our heads, but I was thinking it could be a hint towards what is happening to the killers here.
