WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 3

Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

Or... is that a showtune...?

Who can say?

This week, we're getting into the holiday spirit! So pop some bubbly, be a little sweet - it's that time of year.

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

Yes. I've got about three lifetimes worth of memories now since I have Viola's too so - I hope that you'll be patient with me as I sort through them all.

[snort.] Yeah, no, I don't blame you.

Uh... fuck - anyway. [she thinks.] We've all seen everything that's gone out so far, I think. The scripts, the daycare sign in, our fill in the blanks thing...

It's all - it's all really appropriate, is all. [a long pause.] Molly's death was almost fucking cinematic.

.... it's a cruelty when we begin to treat the things we go through as if they're spectacles that don't hurt us. I'm sorry, Beauregard - but we'll make sure his return is just as grand as he is.

Let's continue to go over the hints - I wonder if there's more to them than what can be gleaned at first glance.

[disreguarded]

[she kind of just... takes a second. it all... worked, it all worked out? but he's still gone.]

Yeah - yeah, right, okay. [she's got pictures of them, so.] With the text that's written over the red sheets, did we figure out who that is? It can't be the Bear.

[she looks at some of the theorizing and smiles]

That's true. Principal Bear can hardly type, let alone hold a pen... but he is a very interesting being to converse with.

At least, that's what my memories tell me.

[steelo]

We've got copies of everything, right? And at least notes on the stuff we don't. Let's lay out what we can.

[ thinking... he's gonna peer over kon's notebook while they're talking. ]

So... the first script was all about making things more "exciting", right? Even that's why the principal's a bear. And that fit with the ad-libs, too. It said "DRAMA" in giant handwriting on a part of it. And it said "cancelled" on it, right?

The second hint we got was...Leo's. That was the cast list. That's how we got the Dorm Heads' names. Plus the professors, the blank spaces for the students - that's us - and then it being the first draft.

And then today's was the fax from the bear. Which - we already got a lot from.

[refate]

[ kon is here and will flip to where they need to go in the notebook, staring down at it for a minute as ichiro goes over it. this is snow's note to himself to actually put the cast list in here OOCly. ]

The handwriting matches across all of the information we have, as well - at least that we're able to see. [ see: their weekly hints purchased from dorm heads. ] Even the daycare. It's all consistent with one person.

[steelo]

Do you think that might be our "bigger problem"?

[refate]

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. [ he taps his pen on his notebook. ]

[steelo]

I mean. [ he taps his pocket where he put his paper. no one else can see it, but. ]

From reading this, even the bear wants to help.

[refate]

Go figure the bear is an ally and probably the point of contact for the people in the daycare. [ dryly ] But he's doing - something.

Whoever this editor is, they are our biggest problem, I think. We just have to find the curtain.
