It's a little hard to wake up when the melody that drifts into your ears is so comforting that it'd be so much simpler to stay asleep. Maybe everything that you remember last - the cold seeping into your fingertips, the pain of injury, or the darkness creeping into your vision - will just be parts of a bad dream.

But it's not.

When you wake up, it's probably a little disorienting - you have to push off a blanket and rise from this nice comfortable mat on the floor. Seems like you were all curled up for nap time. Literally. The room that you're in has furniture meant for small humans, children as some might call them, and everything is soft and plush to the touch with rounded corners. Blocks with the alphabet etched onto them, coloring books and crayons, and even a rocking horse dot the room to really give it that childish charm. If you can think of a child-safe toy, it's probably in one of the baskets that line the shelves of the room!

Around the room they'll find baby monitors that broadcast the antics of the living. Hopefully that doesn't feel creepy.

There is a yard outside through the glass doors, but it currently seems to be locked - and the glass won't break no matter how hard you try. There's a large pink door that feels enormous, ten times as tall as you, on one side of the room, but there's no way through that either. At the very top, you might see a directory sign that says: TO ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.

Huh.

Well... for now, get comfortable. It looks like you might be here a while.

For a moment, but long enough that it was concerning. Iris regained control again after a minute or two but...

Apparently it was the second time that happened, starting from yesterday. It happened once, earlier, when she was talking to Kon. Based off what we brought back from the field trip, the working theory is this place is trying to assimilate her again to make her a villain. I don't know if this is happening to the others, but if I were to take a wild guess? I'd say yeah. Probably. We need to confirm it though.

She said Caleb's looking into it. I'm going to tell him about the photo we brought back, and what it said. But if someone comes to talk to us again, this is priority information.

... I think we need to speak with the other Heads. If this is happening to all of them, we need to learn what we can while they're still themselves.

No. Vio was Vio. She didn't have any memories of what's happen the past few weeks -- or rather she was surprised I was in the daycare? But...

No, more like she did have memories but they were pretty fuzzy. When she started recalling them, Iris took over again.

I'd like to think that means whatever is tryin' to get a hold on 'em isn't as strong as it used to be.

If they can keep a hold on their memories... [But how're they gonna do that?]

... I get the feeling we don't have a lot of say. Unless we decide to make it the villain in our narrative somehow.

I don’t think any of us are excited. But I think we’re running out of time either way. A little bit more hustling and then we’ll have an outcome.

...Great. So their theory was probably right.

And the writing said we'll have to kill the villain, too. [ hate it! hate that a lot! ] What happened to rewriting it? Finishing the story? Did we really lose that chance?

Could still be on the table? I don’t know. The writing this week is also suggesting a sequel, so we might be able to shift things in our favour again it’s just… we’d have to go through with the ending if we have to do that.
