[ the urgency in Ichiro's voice terrifies her, but she forces herself back together and grabs the bandages in question, tying them in place where Ichiro pointed her and squeezing it tighter than you would think a little girl could. Just. Absolutely squeezing the bedevil out of this arm with a bandage.
Now disinfected, she goes ahead and bandages the rest of his wounds! And honestly, does a pretty good job of them. See, Ichiro, she DOES know first aid! A little!
And last but not least, she tries to maneuver the sling over his head for his arm, but it's. kinda clumsy. ]
[ thank you. that hurts like a motherfucker, actually - he does not black out or anything but has to grit his teeth so he doesn't shout and white knuckle the side of the medical table, and hard. sleeve torn off of his hoodie to keep things clean, he takes the sling from her and dips his head so he can pull it up and over for her and maneuver his incredibly painful arm into the sling. okay. cool. mabel gets a pale, exhausted, but still grateful smile. ]

She stares at it, a slick mess of wet blood and gore, so messy she can hardly tell where her toes are. If they're still even there at all. She feels a little sick. ]

It's even darker now, with the lights in the buildings all mostly turned off as people slumber. The street lights are the only thing illuminating the path... almost a little eerily, since even other lights you'd normally expect to remain on in a city are switched off.
It starts to rain. It's light enough that they won't get soaked immediately, but they'll still be pretty wet before they reach whatever destination they're going to. In the distance, there is one apartment complex that still has lights on. ]
[ well. here they go. two very injured people and their also injured dog, hobbling sadly through the rain in the night to their apartment. it looks and feels very pitiful. ]

Miku makes a whining noise, and he looks around. It's quiet enough that they can hear the far off sound of a truck engine turning on, but don't worry about that, it's not in their immediate vicinity.
They continue to move closer to the building. It remains brightly lit. ]

Anyway I'm gonna say they're getting right up to the building's entrance now. Anything curious that's visible in there from the outside as they approach? ]
They'll also hear the truck again, and if they turn around, they'll see that it's right behind them. How did it get there without either of them noticing? It's a mystery.
ichiro also jumps about half a foot - his protective instincts kick in, he grabs mabel around the stomach and pushes into a tuck and roll to keep from getting hit?!
