FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[ Btw not long after the intial introduction Caiman has wandered off and is now sitting by the welcome basket, eating the goods. How is he eating with the mask on you ask? Apparently he can just eat it through his mask hole in the front. ]

Hey! These are real good! It says share or whatever but let me know if some of you don't want it!

What are these? This isn't also fancy food or whatever is it? [ Holding the ribbons which THEY ALL FIT INTO HIS MASSIVE YAOI HANDS. ]

[Lalli is about to ignore Caiman and let him eat whatever, but then he sees the most important of treats: cookies.

And he points to them.]

I want those.

Hrmmh?!

[ Looking up from the food. ]

You've got hands, just take 'em!

[ He is not territorial over this particular food! ]

[As long as he's not going to bite off a hand!

Lalli will take several of the cookies and immediately start eating them. Cookies are one of his favorite foods, so unfortunately he will be greedy with them.]

They're alright.

[ HE IS A CIVILISED LIZARD SORT OF. ]

Oi oi oi, you're gonna eat up all of them! But you're just gonna call them 'alright'?!

They're way sweeter than the cookies I'm used to. But it's still alright.

Not sweet? The hell kinda cookies you eatin'?

They're still sweet, but not THIS sweet. And usually they have bits of fruit and nuts in them.

Fruit... and nuts... [ Hmmmhmm. ] If you had the stuff, could you recreate them?

Maybe.

Neat! I dunno where to get them but if you know!

[ he is already squirrelishly nomming on a cookie when caiman points them out, so... onto the other thing it is! ]

They look like you can wear them like rings. I'm guessing they're red because that's this dorm's color. The other ones probably have similar-themed ones based on their seasons.

Oh, dorm colour, huh? What's that supposed to mean?

Why wear a ribbon like a ring... don't think they're even gonna fit anyway.

[ DROPS THEM LIKE FLIES. Food more important. ]

Well, they correspond to the seasons. Red for fall, because falling leaves... I'd guess white for winter because snow. And... maybe yellow for spring? [ pause ] I don't know, I'm probably thinking about it too hard.

Sounds right though.

[ And he grins! Or, probably, from what can be seen over the mask. ]

Red's a pretty good colour, too!

[ okay now that my inbox is less horrifying--lux just settles for some tea. sweets at a time like this... ]

As for those ribbons, perhaps they're just decorative?

Decorative for what? Keep 'em lying around and they look more like trash or something.

I don't know. But something so pretty wouldn't be left here by mistake, just to be thrown away.

[ well. she doesn't really want them, but she also thinks that's better than him throwing them away. so she takes them?

[ Perfect! Caiman sees nothing wrong with this, he has successfully transferred garbage onto another person. ]

Dunno why they gotta be the way they are though, if you want decorative ribbons wouldn't it be neater to just have one big ribbon all wrapped up places? Not that I've ever thrown a party.

Yes, I would have expected much bigger ribbons to decorate the room. Not something so small, on a table.

There are about as many of these as there are of us. Perhaps they're... Gifts of some kind? Offerings, like the food?

Good luck charms? That girl over there with the mask said that that thing is her good luck charm or whatever, these could be that? Dunno if they'll give us any 'stats' though!

Yeah! She said her mask adds stuff to her DEX and... uh, DEF! Says it gives her self-confidence and protects her identity.
