FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 1

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[ there's a sound. a rhythmic rumbling that some of you may recognize as the sound of running washing machines. should you follow it to the fall dorm laundry room you will find:

lux and lalli, sitting on the floor in the middle of the room. they have some board games next to them, though they aren't open. lux is holding up one very tiny sock, while lalli has the other. they both look vaguely confused? also lux is wearing this.

there are several running washing machines, but laundry is only in one of them. one of the machines towards the back of the room is slowly overflowing with bubbles. they are both ignoring it. ]

Well, it was a lesson learned, I suppose?

What did you guys do?

Laundry.

[ LUX!!! ]

Okay, uh, better question– why are you wearing Yamato's clothes?

[illuminance]

Well - he's wearing mine.

[ as if that explains it. ]

[silentscout]

Laundry.

[Lalli sounds a touch sadder than Lux though. His socks :(]

[ you know what he's going to go and start turning the washing machines off, starting with the bubbling one, because he for some reason needs to be the responsible one today, ]

[Go Hope, the responsible one! Lalli is watching what he does.]

Oh. That's how you turn it off?

[ghoststrums]

[ the face of a boy who has been doing laundry since he was eight and is offended? ]

... if you didn't know how to work them, you could've asked...

[ WASTEFUL THINK OF THE ELECTRICITY AND WATER BILLS ]

We figured it out.

[ did they..... ]

Did you.

[ STARES AT THE MACHINES ]

[illuminance]

That machine is an outlier.

[silentscout]

Oh. I was supposed to ask you.

[Taichi may have specifically told him to do that, whoops.]

[ghoststrums]

Why didn't you?!

I found Lux and she said she would help me.

[He got distracted.]

[headsplitter]

You guys didn't break the laundry machine, did you???

[illuminance]

Of course not...! Do they seem broken?

[ actually that's a sincere question. she can't tell. d....... do they? ]

[headsplitter]

[ He looks at the one overflowing with bubbles.

Then back to Lux. ]

That one looks like something happened...

[silentscout]

[He looks at the machine flowing over with bubbles.

...he does not answer but he looks Concerned.]

[headsplitter]

What, didn't you do that?! [ LALLIIII SAY SOMETHINGNGGGG ]

It's gonna 'cause damage if it's left like that! [ HUFF PUFF. ] Where's a mop?!

Oh, dear.

She scoops up a pile of bubbles from the machine towards the back, staring.]

Laundry day?

[illuminance]

It has to happen quite frequently, with how few outfits we have been given.

[txt]

Yes, of course. I just worry our washing machines won't survive it.

[GENTLY SHUTTING THIS POOR MACHINE DOWN...]

Laundry day.
