[ We have some mood music as you're welcomed to a port village called Seafront. It's a beautiful place with a lot more people than the village you were originally in. Two-story white structures accented with blue canopies and peaks stretch left, right, and beyond, but you get smacked with an ocean's breeze... There's a hint of salt in the air. The woman from the library asked you to look for the missing ferryman... He has been gone for several days now, but they need him to do his job? You know his wife is somewhere in Seafront. Why didn't you say no? Because you're you. You always help. You find purpose in doing good. The world is already so cruel... Why make it worse?
You also want to use the ferry, by the way. There have been more Shades lately, so the ferry is the most convenient and safe mode of transportation.
Down the path, there's a open market straight south, then a bridge to a plaza to the east. People really are out here, chatting with each other, haggling for items and the like, and fish smell. Yes. Fish smell. What will you do? ]
[ you know, the white buildings and the architecture style and the proximity to the sea are all pretty reminiscent of demacia! lux feels almost right at home. ]
I think the first place we should check is near the ferry itself. Perhaps there is a clue or a message of some kind for us to follow from there.

The people at the dock and ferry would probably be the last to have seen him, if not his wife, so it's the best place to knock out first.

Claude will wake up on a wooden floor. The walls that surround him are also wooden. The lighting is pretty dim inside, but it looks like some sunlight could be peeking in through some cracks in the wood.
Behind him seems to be some kind of entryway. In front of him, he can see that it's some kind of hallway.
He will also feel like something is off. The air is almost oppressing, and it's almost like he can hear something at the back of his mind. Or is just a whisper of a voice in the distance? ]
He's done this once before, but never alone. He doesn't think he minds it, and he glances around for a moment before stepping into the hallway, pulling out his phone to see if there's any help available for him there. ]
[ The further he walks in, he can notice some barrels, a random chest, a table with broken dishware. Some of the wood in the interior looks splintered.
He can take out his phone, but what is he think he's going to see on it? It functions fine, but it's not like texting works here. ]
[ they have no way of knowing if it's an illusion or not, and lux is leaning towards not, now that they've seen those posters, so she will approach claude ]

Since Futaba is coming this way, she can hear noises that aren't unfamiliar to her. It sounds a little like when the monster talked to her earlier, and she can see a little girl jumping through a massive hole before the floor will give out under Futaba, so she can join them in receiving fall damage.
Lux's light is so good and handy. She will recognize so many of these bodies! Since she saw the missing portraits in the police station, she can see there are faces that match with those, or whatever's left of them. There's someone with a postman's outfit. She should be able to recognize the ferryman, too.
Everyone can recognize Taichi.
Please don't be scared of me.... Claudia almost begs, as she stands away from them, as if trying to be out of reach of Lux's light. Some tentacle limbs seem to emerge from behind her, and one of them seems to be wrapped around and holding up someone very, very familiar. It's Lalli.
Hope they've gathered enough of their bearings by now through all the pain and trauma because they will see Lalli for five seconds before Claudia's eyes glow red. She seems to grow in size, and she turns around and consumes Lalli. ]
[ Okay, so this is the worst. Claude instinctively gags again, upon seeing Taichi, upon seeing Claudia turn into something else, Lalli disappearing into her... mouth? Tentacles?
Either way, it makes his stomach lurch, but not enough to keep him from scrambling to his feet, reaching for the handy dandy new sword he'd received when Futaba falls through the ceiling. ]

[ She's so small, and it's easier to focus on running over to her than to think about which one of these faces is real, and which one they'd actually lost. He's also going to make sure that Futaba isn't in danger of Claudia's tentacles. ]

Hey! Oh, gosh. You are all a bloody mess... Please get yourselves help soon, okay? Right way. [ She says that with genuine maternal worry, but: ] Did you find my husband?
[ Her voice is perky, hopeful. It's a front because after a second of silence from all of you— ]
Wait... Why are you hesitating? Is he all right? [ Her voice starts cracking. ] Please tell me he's all right! C'mon. S-say something already.
[ As a group, you all must decide to tell her the truth or to lie. ]
[ lux tries to remember what nier had told this woman. had he worded it any particular way? it was a while back and it wasn't her own memory - she doesn't remember the specifics. does it matter?
